Our Mexican Molé Caramel molded truffle was crowned Grand Champion and Best in Show at the 2011 Colorado Chocolate Festival. Mexican Molé Caramel is one of our newest flavors.
There were 60 truffles entered into the competition and among these 60 the Mexican Molé Caramel was deemed the very best. Through a process of elimination, the judges come up with a short list of three contenders from which the Mexican Molé Caramel was eventually selected. We were told that the judges found it very, very difficult to select one winner from the three.
What were those other two contenders? One was our new Mango Mango molded truffle and the other was our Orange Spice Caramel molded truffle which was judged to be the Best Traditional Truffle at the 2010 Winter Park Chocolate Festival.

This is one of Robin’s favorite molded truffles and was the second flavor she developed for her original 4-piece collection. The other flavors in that collection are the Raspberry Heart, the Orange Spice Caramel, and the Honey Cinnamon. As you can see below, the Raspberry Heart and the Orange Spice Caramel have also won awards.
